Calling ALL beginner Cuttlebug Users!

Welcome to the Cuttlebug Blog. We are excited you have stopped by to visit. So relax, kick off your shoes and enjoy your stay here. We have decided to dedicate this site to beginners! (Seasoned Veterans welcome too!) As I am a beginner Cuttlebug'er I have looked around other blogs and get kind of discouraged by all the very advanced (and fabulous) designs. So I thought to myself, beginners need a place to feel welcome, make mistakes (as I am sure I will ;) and grow with creativity! So lets join together and Create, Inspire , Teach, Grow!

Good Morning Crafty Friends!!

Can you believe August is here already?? July flew by for me!
Today, I bring inspiration from our talented design team member Suzann...
Her first card is for the Challenge:
Here is a 4x4 card~ receipe: Seeing Spots cuttlebug embossing folder,
Bo Bunny pattern paper, stickers and ribbon, and pop up dots.
You can't tell by the picture but i used pop dots on the sticker in the center to create
a 3D effect.

It's August...That means a new Challenge!!

Happy Monday!! Happy August! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far! Has anyone taken a vacation anywhere? If so,where did you go? My family went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina! For us, there is nothing like sitting on the beach watching the waves go by! Of course, we also do some fun things while we are there! One of our favorite things is to rent a jeep and head out to the 4x4 beach and see the wild horses!

So the theme of the month is "Splish Splash Summer Vacation Spot--Where did you spend your vacation?" Create a project based off where you went on vacation this year!
The talented Design Team Ladies created some great projects to kick off our theme!

Donna created this great card:

RECIPE: Cuttlebug Embossing folder= Seeing Spots/ cardstock= Coredinations/ patterned paper= Bo Bunny( Mango Luau Dot)/ cardstock sticker= Bo Bunny( Mango Luau)/ Dot ribbon= Bo Bunny( Olive)/ paper leaves= Bazzill

TECHNIQUE: Emboss with Cuttlebug machine and folder, then sand for effect. The green paper was sanded...the orange flower was not.

Micky created this single page layout:

Base - 12x12 OLIVE core'dinations cardstock, edges distressed
2- 5 x5 squares bazzill cardstock --Embossed with Cuttlebug- Seeing spots embossing folder
2 - 6x6 squares cut from Bobunny Luau slang
2- triangular pieces folded over - cut from Bobunny Luau Babe
Other embellishments include a cardstock sticker from Bobuny that reads "relax", Bazzil leaves, Bobunny Olive double dot Ribbon

and my card:

I used the following:
Mango luau cut outs
coredinations paper
seeing spots cuttlebug folder
bazzill paper leaves
rik rak green ribbon
white flower
brads
Hope you like it!! For more detailed information, please check out my personal blog at http://www.scrapthiscraftthat.blogspot.com

Juy's winner will be posted soon. As you all probably read Sabrina's post so when she is back, I am sure she will post the winner :) and also post about the challenge prize for August as well!

News update

Hey everyone! How is your summer so far? Has it been hot where you are? I know I promised that I would be here even though I was going on vacation, but on the 4th of July a tragic accident encompassed my family. My mom was in an accident with severe head injuries and later passed away from them. My mom would have been 49 on the 17th of July. She was my best friend and I will miss her immensely.
I want to take this moment to thank Lynne for jumping right in and taking over for me to keep you all company while I was away. She has done an awesome job and I will think of something great to repay her! I think you all could help by giving her a shout out "thank you" message. Although I am not home yet, I plan to be soon and taking over my responsibilities. However, Lynne will still be here to keep you all company until I can return home. And I hope that she will be willing to continue to post for us regularly in the future...
Thank you all for being here and playing with us. And thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
Sincerely
