Calling ALL beginner Cuttlebug Users!

Welcome to the Cuttlebug Blog. We are excited you have stopped by to visit. So relax, kick off your shoes and enjoy your stay here. We have decided to dedicate this site to beginners! (Seasoned Veterans welcome too!) As I am a beginner Cuttlebug'er I have looked around other blogs and get kind of discouraged by all the very advanced (and fabulous) designs. So I thought to myself, beginners need a place to feel welcome, make mistakes (as I am sure I will ;) and grow with creativity! So lets join together and Create, Inspire , Teach, Grow!

Last of the MOMs Inspiration!

Happy Monday Morning to you all! Today will be the last post for our MOMs inspiration.  Donna, Lynne, Suzann, Michelle and I have had a fabulous time this month being inspired by our MOMs! Moms tend to be the one person that you can ALWAYS count on to be there for you and we hope that we did all moms proud with a whole month of projects dedicated to them! So for every Cuttlebug'er mom we say ROCK ON! There is only ONE "official" day for moms... but EVERYDAY should be moms day!

Donna
RECIPE: Cuttlebug embossing folder= Bloom Dots (Blue Border), Textile & Swiss Dots (Flowers)/ patterned paper= Bo Bunny (Flutter)/ ribbon= Making Memories/ stamp= SU!
TECHNIQUE: I embossed the blue border and rubbed a tan ink pad over the surface to highlight the raised image. I embossed the small brown flowers with the Swiss Dots folder and the larger tan flowers with the Textile folder, then assembled them with brads.

NOTE: Due to one of our readers requests I am going to try to include instructions for our designs. If you are still in question about how we did something hop over to the designers personal blog listed on the left.

BUT WAIT... We aren't done yet!  We have a surprise! Our Dear Suzanne has a great tutorial to share with you all today! Yay!

Pocket Card Tutorial by Suzann

Start by taking a 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock
and cut in half long ways-
so that you have (2) pieces that are: 4.25 x 11

Next SCORE your base cardstock in two places-
once at 5.5 from the top
and then 1.5 from the bottom-
fold on the score- then fold the 1.5 piece the opposite direction
this will create a "Z" looking piece of cardstock

Then EMBOSS the front side of the card with your cuttlebug

Now EMBELLISH~
I added pattern paper and ribbon
corner rounded the edges and used a scallop punch to embellish

Next APPLY thin red tacky tape- along both inside edges of the card

Then CREATE the inside library card style insert~
I cut mine 3.75 x 5.25
then rounded the edges- added some pattern paper
and Cricut die cuts with my sentiment in the center for the
finishing touches!

Finished Project!

SO CUTE!

Well what a great tutorial for us all!  I actually used it to make my project this week! So everyone make sure you leave luv for Suzann for her hard work! And while your at it... don't forget the rest of the team who work hard to bring you great inspiration every week! Your comments keep us going!
Thanx for coming by to visit! Scrap Crazy!

More Green Inspiration From The DT

Each week we will post more inspiration from our DT. We want to get your creativity flowing. We are still with the Green theme and this is what our DT came up with!
Donna
Sentement: Let the relaxation begin, Happy Retirement
Recipe: Cuttlebug embossing folder=Fleur di Lis/ cardstock=Kiwi Kiss, Naturals White(SU!)/ ColorCore Cardstock=Key Lime(Coredinations)/ stamps=Chairs to You(Flourishes) & sentiment(SU!)/ markers=Copic.
Technique: I embossed the ColorCore paper with the Fleur de Lis embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. I then sanded the surface to bring out the green core...the more you sand, the more color will show through! I chose this folder because it reminds me of wallpaper and I thought it would look cute with the chair!
Michelle
Easel Card
Recipe: Leaves cut from a sizzix die, chalked and shaped into a heart. I embossed with one of the Fancy Corners embossing folders.  The owl is a Cricut image that I flocked and added crystal jewels for the eyes.  The tree trunk was embossed with the Distressed Lines embossing folder.  I also added were green crystal jewels, rub on lettering and organza ribbon.

Challenge #2

Hey all you Cuttlebug'ers! Its a new month and so we have a new challenge! Since it is March we decided that the challenge would be all about GREEN! You can put a little or alot of green on your cards but it must have green! It also must have Cuttlebug usage somewhere!
This months scrumptious grab is :
3- 12x12 Making Memories paper
1- Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Bloom Dots
1- Making Memories velvet stickers - Spring White
1- Making Memories flower shop tin collection - Pastel Glitter
THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR CRAZYSCRAPS!

Here is what our DT came up with for inspiration:

Suzann
Technique: I embossed paper flowers with Swiss Dots folder & I embossed the clear "U" with Swiss Dots folder. Technique: I embossed white Bazzill cardstock, then rubbed my ink pad over the raised dots to create a inked effect I also applied ink to the outer portion of the card.
Recipe: D'vine Swirls & Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folders, Bazzill White Cardstock, Wasabi Stampin Up ink, Mambi Green Bling, Lil' Davis "u" glitter clear alpha, Lime green prima flowers, creative imaginations printed paper, autumn leaves swirl stamp & close to my heart chocolate alphabet stamp set.
Donna
Recipe: Cuttlebug embossing folder=Tiny Bubbles/ Cuttlebug die=Scallop Flower (trees)/ stamp=Hero Arts (sentiment)/ patterned paper=K & Company/ cardstock=SU! Certainly Celery
Technique: I embossed paper with a white core & then sanded it lightly to create the white dots.

Michelle
"Friends 4 ever" I used DCWV embossed paper, and various other patterned papers. All three critters were cut out and paper pieced together. I embossed the turtle shell with diamonds in the rough , the turtle body was embossed with spots & dots, and the bee wings were embossed with d'vine swirls. I also used color bok olive ink and QQ-green w/envy ink pad. The lettering was cut from Hippie Chick die set, and the paper flowers are from Making Memories.
Lynne
I bought this little wooden "purse/bag" from Michael's for a dollar!! I painted it and added some gold glimmer mist (I wasn't sure how it would be on wood but it is okay)..I used my scribble flower cuttlebug die to cut my flower.. the inside layer is some flocked paper and then the outside is just white card stock. I used some rik rac to make the "stems"...I think this would be a great way to give a gift to someone.. instead of the traditional gift bag..
